Companion of the Argent Fleece (CAF)
The Order of the Argent Fleece, or Companion of the Argent Fleece (CAF), is a Kingdom-level Grant of Arms award given to individuals who demonstrate extraordinary skill and dedication to the creation and cultivation of a medieval persona. This includes not only costuming, but also mannerisms, research, presentation, and presence.
Purpose and Recognition
Within the Society, many strive for prowess on the field, excellence in the arts, and dedication in service. The Argent Fleece recognizes those for whom their **persona** is itself a refined and cultivated art. This includes mindful comportment, historically-informed appearance, researched culture, and embodiment of the ideals of a particular time and place.
Recipients of the Order are considered to have achieved persona excellence and may use the post-nominal letters CAF after their name. The award confers a Grant of Arms if the recipient does not already possess one.
Precedence
This award carries the precedence of a Grant of Arms in the Outlands Order of Precedence.
Badge and Regalia
Members of the Order are entitled to bear the badge: Vert, a fleece argent, within a bordure embattled Or
They may also wear appropriate regalia reflecting persona excellence or the badge of the Order.
