			The Canton held two unofficial 'honors', as Cantons aren't allowed to have formal awards. These were the Green Man, and the Cattle Guard. The Green Man was given by the Seneschal for service, and the Cattle Guard was given by its own members to those who owned their own equipment and represented the Canton on any martial field.

			The Canton maintained a piece of ancient Baronial regalia, the Holy Hand Grenade of Bofharrach. A candle shaped like a baseball, it was painted black and decorated with metal cows. As a candle, it was prone to shifting slightly if stored somewhere too warm. The Holy Hand Grenade was kept by the Seneschal of the Canton, and formally presented to the incoming Baron and Baroness at investitures.

	Newcomers was traditionally held by Unser Hafen during the ~~Fall~~ from ~~2011~~ through 2024. After severe weather events in the November of 2024, Newcomers was rescheduled to coincide with Baronial polling in January of 2025. Newcomers was traditionally held by Unser Hafen during the late summer or early fall from at least 2004 through 2024. After severe weather events in the November of 2024, Newcomers was rescheduled to coincide with Baronial polling in January of 2025. The next Newcomers is scheduled for August 22, 2026, returning the event to its traditional season.

			While the broad theme of the event is always focused on those new to the Society, the way this is specifically implemented can change year to year. Some years have had more of a structure for the titular newcomers to follow, while others have been arranged more as a craft fair, or an unstructured sampling of the Society's activities.

			One nearly universal tradition is a merchant selling inexpensive second hand garb. While the names of the merchants have changed over the years, the goal remains the same: To provide inexpensive garb for new players first, and to raise money for the Barony second. Merchants have been seen negotiating against their own profit to ensure that someone can leave with the garb they have set their heart on.

			On May 3, AS XXXII (1997), the Barony of Unser Hafen hosted Eistedfodd, billed as “the Bardic to end all Bardics,” at the McMillen Building on the Larimer County Fairgrounds in Loveland, Colorado. The event was held as a dry site.

			Eistedfodd combined martial display and bardic artistry in a uniquely theatrical format. The morning featured both heavy weapons and light weapons tournaments, with two prizes awarded in each list: one to the fighter who put on the best show, and another to the individual who composed the best bardic piece inspired by the tourney.

			The afternoon and evening were devoted to the principal Bardic competition. Entrants were required to perform three pieces drawn from the traditional bardic arts—song, story, poetry, or dance—with at least one original composition. The highest-ranking competitor was named the new Baronial Bard of Unser Hafen.

			A feast inspired by the traditional cuisines of the British Isles accompanied the event, featuring multiple courses including leek and potato soup, cold poached salmon with oatcakes, roasted chicken, marinated beef with rosemary and red wine, and desserts such as lemon tea cakes and Welsh cakes. As noted in the announcement, the menu remained subject to the cook’s discretion.
