== Overview ==

The '''Order of Saint Louis with the Staff''' (BC) is a Barony-level non-armigerous award given for long-time participation in the Barony of Caer Galen, spanning at least 15 years. The order was formerly known as the Curmudgeons of Caer Galen, and recipients are often affectionately referred to as such.

The Order was formally chartered on '''April 18, A.S. XLIX (2015)''' by King [[Hrothgar]] and Queen [[Ingridr]] of the Outlands, with the charter attested by [[Randal Carrick]], White Stag Principal Herald. The premier recipient was [[Louis-Philippe Mitouard]].

== Purpose and Recognition ==

The Order of Saint Louis with the Staff recognizes individuals whose long-standing service and participation have become an integral part of the Barony. The scroll text playfully references "shrinking bones and graying pate," highlighting the longevity of the recipient's dedication. Recipients are styled as Companions of the Band of Curmudgeons or Band of Right Crusty Curmudgeons and may use the post-nominal letters '''B.C.'''. This award carries no precedence or right to bear arms.
