== Purpose and Recognition ==

The Order of the Venerable Guard is given by the Crown to those subjects who have served the martial interests of the Society for a period of not less than fifteen years. The award is meant to recognize those who have dedicated a significant portion of their lives to the martial pursuits of the Society.

Recipients are styled as '''Companions of the Venerable Guard''' and may use the post-nominal letters '''CVG'''.

== Badge and Regalia ==

Members of the Order may bear the badge:

''Vert, a sheaf of three swords inverted proper, surmounted by a rose, all within a bordure embattled Or.''

The insignia also consists of a pouch for presentation with a suitable stipend, symbolizing the sack of coin given to Knight Pensioners by Edward III in ceremonies at Windsor.
