The Order of the Monkey (DM) is a Barony-level non-armigerous award given for bringing joy and laughter to the Barony of Caer Galen.
The name of the award has a unique origin. In the pre-Barony days, the Shire group had a "Doge" who would run "Non-court Experiences" with the goal of making them fun and entertaining. Purpose and Recognition
The Order of the Monkey recognizes individuals whose actions bring delight and lighthearted laughter to the Barony. Recipients are styled as Companions of the Dancing Monkey and may use the post-nominal letters D.M..
This is a non-armigerous award, meaning it does not grant the right to bear arms.
Badge and Regalia
Members of the Order may bear the registered badge:
Fieldless, a monkey rampant contourny azure, collared and chained Or.
Recipients also receive a medallion or other rendition of the badge.

As the dancing of the merry monkey brings lighthearted laughter to those who watch it play, so too do the actions of certain individuals bring joy and delight to all. It is our great joy to recognize and encourage those individuals who bring fun to all they do. It is therefore that We do invest ________ into the Order of the Monkey. We charge that [he/she/they] continue to bring the same level of festivity and frolic to all, leaving always in [his/her/their] wake a trail of stardust and the memory of happy music.
