Overview
The Guardian of the Oasis of Fontaine (OG) was a Barony-level Award of Arms recognizing individuals who had enriched the fighting arts of the Barony through service, teaching, and personal skill.[1] Recipients are entitled to bear the badge of the Order and use the post-nominal letters O.G.. The award was established by the Charter for the Guardian of the Oasis on November 8, A.S. XXXVIII (2003) by Duncan Alastair MacRae and Mary of Lyonshall attested by Tatianna Pavlovna Sokolova, White Stag Principal Herald and Rowland McCain, Black Fountain Pursuivant.[2]
Purpose and Recognition
The Guardian of the Oasis honors those who have demonstrated extraordinary skill in SCA-style weaponry, including armored combat, rapier, or archery. Recipients are recognized for their leadership, teaching, and honorable behavior both on and off the field. Members are styled as Guardians of the Oasis and may bear the post-nominals O.G..

This award carries the precedence of an Award of Arms, ranking above a simple Award of Arms but below awards of higher precedence.
