Crown of the Outlands
The Crown of the Outlands refers to the reigning monarchs of the Kingdom of the Outlands within the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). Typically, this includes the King and Queen, though the titles may vary depending on the gender identities of the victors of Crown Tournament and their consorts.
Selection
The Crown is determined by victory in Crown Tournament, held twice annually. The winner of the tournament and their consort become Crown Prince and Princess, and are later invested as the new Crown at Coronation.
Duties
The Crown serves as the highest authority within the kingdom during their reign. Their responsibilities include:
- Presiding over court
- Making awards and bestowing honors
- Representing the kingdom at events
- Supporting the kingdom’s officers and branches
Forms of Address
The Crown is typically addressed as "Your Majesty" or "Their Majesties."
