Introduction
Gilbertus de Messina is a player from Unser Hafen, he is a fighter, and herald who served as the Unser Hafen chatelaine. He is also a member of Bears Gate and spreads word of their shenanigans far and wide with his attitude and service. He is the squire and protege of Sir Alexander MacAndrew who is a knight and pelican of the society.

Gilbertus is a Norman from the kingdom of Sicily, specifically the city of Messina. He was first bloodied in campaigns against the Byzantine Empire during the 2nd Crusade. When he returned he started a small sea trading outfit in Palermo and he sails the routes from Sicily around the western Mediterranean. Regularly visiting citie Tunis, Valencia, Genoa and Marseilles among others.
