Hrothger IV & Ingriðr speaking at Grand Court

Kingdom Kingdom of the Outlands
Held June 23-28, 2026
Reign Hrothger IV & Ingriðr
Hosted in Barony of Dragonsspine
Site Golden Eagle Campground

Overview

Battlemoor XIV was the fourteenth annual Battlemoor, the premier camping event of the Kingdom of the Outlands. Held June 23–28, 2026, at Golden Eagle Campground near Colorado Springs in Dragonsspine, the event took place during the reign of Hrothger IV & Ingriðr and featured martial tournaments, arts and sciences, classes, revels, merchanting, and camping. The event's theme, Kill Them With Kindness, celebrated the Outlands' reputation for hospitality.[1]

Weather

Battlemoor XIV was marked by persistent high temperatures and strong winds throughout the event. The open layout of the main site offered little natural shade, resulting in prolonged sun exposure for attendees during daytime activities.

Weather impacted several scheduled events. Friday evening court was briefly delayed due to forecasted storms. Shortly after court began, rainfall interrupted proceedings and attendees temporarily sought shelter. The rain cleared after approximately ten minutes and court was able to proceed as intended. As a result of the weather, the Leaf & Lion Circus was canceled. Anticipating additional storms, Saturday evening court was relocated indoors, though the indoor space remained exceptionally warm.

The sustained high winds also affected camping conditions. Multiple attendees, including Their Royal Majesties, reported damaged or destroyed tents during wind events on Friday and Saturday, requiring repairs, relocation or early departure for some campers.

Site Token

The site token for the event was a metal disk roughly 2" in diameter with a rearing stag, a stylized, anthropomorphized heart wielding a sword, and text which read "Outlands Battlemoor XIV" and "Kill Them With Kindness"

Theming

The theme for Battlemoor XIV was "Kill them with Kindness" as an homage to the Outlands' reputation for hospitableness. In connection with this theme, much of the marketing and promotion leading up to the event incorporated visual elements reminiscent of cross-stitch.

Artwork was also submitted by Bawdwyn Kaye from Calontir depicting a stylized, anthropomorphized heart wielding a sword. This was use intermittently in promotion and was featured on the site token and merchandise.[3]
