Overview

The Winged Pheon of Fontaine (OV) was a Baronial-level non-armigerous award given by the Coronet of Fontaine dans Sable.[1] This award, previously known as the Order of the Vol, was conferred upon those who had demonstrated great skill and dedication to the art and sport of archery. The order was chartered under its original name on October 29, A.S. XL (2005) by Duncan and Mary, Baron and Baroness of Fontaine dans Sable. The constitution was attested by Martim, Black Fountain Pursuivant.[2]

Purpose and Recognition

The Winged Pheon of Fontaine recognized individuals who had shown exemplary skill and dedication to the art and sport of archery within the Barony.

The holders of this award are styled as Companions of the Vol and may use the post-nominal letters O.V..

Precedence

This award carries neither arms nor precedence. It is a non-armigerous award.

Badge and Regalia

No badge was ever registered to the order.[3]

Sure and swift is the arrow flown from the bow of the Archers of Fontaine. Without hesitation Our good gentles stand strong with bows strung.

Having observed the dedication, skill, and fervor in Archery that __________ has shown within Our Barony, we are minded this day to create him/her a Companion of the order of the Winged Pheon.
