Overview

The Order of the Book and Harp (SCG) is a baronial award of the Barony of Caer Galen, given to those who have been inspirational to others by their grace and actions. Holders of the award are styled as Storytellers of Caer Galen. The charter was amended on April 18, A.S. XLIX (2015) by Baroness Matilda and Baroness Anne, with the attestation of King Hrothgar and Queen Ingridr and White Stag Principal Herald Randal Carrick. The premier recipient was Rowen of Staffin.

Purpose and Recognition

The Order of the Book and Harp recognizes individuals whose grace, wisdom, and bearing serve as a high example to others within the Barony of Caer Galen.

Recipients are styled as Storytellers of Caer Galen and may use the post-nominal letters SCG. This award is a non-armigerous award and carries no precedence.

There walk among us good gentles whose grace, wisdom, and bearing do stand as high example to us all. Know ye all by these letters that ____________ is one such person, and stands as a shining example of all these qualities of true worth. We do therefore admit [him/her/them] this day as a member of the Order of the Book and Harp. Henceforth [he/she//they] shall be styled and numbered among the revered Storytellers of Caer Galen. Let them be known by the badge, Fieldless, a bell purpure.
