Overview
The Award of the Cordon Royal - Bearer (BCR) is a Kingdom-level **non-armigerous award** given by the reigning King to individuals for great service to him during his reign. It was formally chartered in **A.S. XXXIII (1998)** by King Hrothger II and Queen Madigan, with the charter being attested by Pendar the Bard, White Stag Principal Herald. Earlier iterations of the award date back to A.S. XXI (1987). A person may receive this award multiple times, but only once per reign.
Purpose and Recognition
The Order of the Cordon Royal is a highly personal award that exalts those who have shown themselves constant in service, not only to the Crown but to the King's person. It is a sign of his personal favor and a mark of appreciation for dedicated service.
Recipients are styled as Bearers of the Cordon Royal and may use the post-nominal letters B.C.R..

The insignia of the Order is some rendition of a belt, armill, garter, or similar item, as shall please His Majesty to bestow. The insignia shall bear a stylized rendering of the King’s initials, the form of which is determined by each King.

Know ye that We perceive it to be becoming to Our Royal Majesty that We should exalt with singular honors those who show themselves constant in Our {household} service, { especially in those things which proceed from Our mere prerogative and liberal grace}. Hence it is that We name ___________ as a bearer of the Cordon Royal, as a sign of Our favor, and in appreciation for [his/her/their] dedicated labors throughout Our Reign.
