Site Token
A site token is a small item, typically given at gate, to commemorate attendance at a Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) event. Site tokens serve as both a practical proof of entry and a keepsake of the occasion.
Description
Site tokens vary widely in material and design. In the Kingdom of the Outlands, common forms include charms, laser-cut wood tokens, and enamel pins. They are often crafted with heraldic motifs, event themes, or inscriptions that mark the date and hosting group.
Display and Use
Many participants collect site tokens over years of attendance, often displaying them on brag rags or other accessories. Beyond being mementos, tokens provide a visible record of one’s involvement in SCA activities and often become conversation pieces at events.
Notable Examples
- Sohn Des Turniere um Gurkenshulcht 2025: a ceramic cup featuring a pickle design, serving as both site token and functional drinkware.
- Unser Hafen Medieval Night: Plague Edition: a laser-engraved wooden token inscribed with “I survived the plague at Unser Hafen Medieval Night” accompanied by an illustration of a rat.
