House of the Grey Ghost
House of the Grey Ghost is a household associated with Unser Hafen in the Kingdom of the Outlands in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). It is based in Sterling, Colorado, and is led by Alain and Isabeau du Chateau.
Activities
The household fosters community through medieval-themed activities and practices. It regularly hosts '''Medieval Night''' on the first Saturday of each month, featuring rotating classes such as forging, medieval board games, tunic-making, and fiber arts. One themed session, for example, highlighted the journey from “sheep to shawl,” with demonstrations including spinning, drop spindles, and nålbinding. All materials for classes are provided free of charge.
In addition to Medieval Night, the household organizes an archery meetup at the Sterling Reservoir Archery Range on the first Sunday of each month. These practices offer casual shooting, instruction, and loaner equipment, and are open to children ages five and up. A separate monthly session with Tracker as marshal provides opportunities for participants to complete qualification scoring.
