Stag of the Outlands
Overview
The Order of the Stag (OSO) is a Kingdom-level Grant of Arms award that recognizes exceptional service to the Kingdom of the Outlands. Members of the Order are styled as a Stag of the Outlands. The Order was originally chartered on November 11, A.S. XXX (1995) and the charter was signed and dated on November 14, A.S. XXXIII (1998) by Hrothger II and Madigan, King and Queen of the Outlands, pending the passage of a new badge. The charter was attested by Pendar the Bard, White Stag Principal Herald. The premier recipient was Helena Gabrielle the Fortunate.
Purpose and Recognition
The Order of the Stag honors those who have provided long and faithful service to the Kingdom, performing duties far beyond what is normally expected of a citizen. The award is a sign of high favor from the Crown and recognizes that a person's service has been not only useful but also fruitful and honorable.
Recipients are styled as Stags of the Outlands and are entitled to place the post-nominal letters O.S.O. after their names. This award carries a Grant of Arms, if not already held.
Badge and Regalia
Members of the Order may bear the registered badge:
Vert, two stags combatant sustaining between them a column argent, a bordure engrailed Or.
Recipients also receive a medallion bearing the badge of the Order.

(1) Proclaim to all gentles and nobles and let it be known by these present letters that
(2) We, ______ and _______, King and Queen of these mighty Outlands, send due Commendations and Greetings.
(3) We hope not only to embellish, but to increase the dignity of the Outlands when We dispense titles of honor among noble, discreet and valiant persons. Wherefore We have directed the regard of Our consideration to _______, who has rendered to us and Our Kingdom not only useful but fruitful and honorable service.
(4) Hence We do prefer and create [him/her/them], by Grant of Arms, a Stag of the Outlands. { [He/She/They] shall receive all honors, duties and privileges as are conveyed by this station. } The College of Arms having approved: (BLAZON) for [his/her/their] sole and unique use, the Honorable [Lord/Lady/Noble] ______ shall bear these Arms as a sign of Our high favor. {We further grant [him/her/them] the right to bear the insignia of the order: Vert, two stags combatant sustaining between them a column argent, a bordure engrailed Or.}
