Brag Rag

Brag rags are accessories used in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) to display site tokens, awards, and other mementos collected at events. They function as both a keepsake and a visible record of participation in the SCA.
Description
Brag rags are most often worn hanging from the belt. They typically feature a strip or panel of fabric sturdy enough to support the weight of multiple tokens, charms, and pins. Many are decorated with personal or baronial heraldry, making them both practical and expressive.
Cultural Role
In addition to serving as a visible record of SCA experiences, brag rags often spark conversation and camaraderie. Each token displayed represents an event attended or a memory shared, and many members take pride in showing the breadth of their participation.
Local Traditions
The Barony of Unser Hafen in the Kingdom of the Outlands is known for gifting a brag rag featuring the barony’s populace badge to its members, providing both a unifying symbol and a functional accessory for collecting site tokens.
