Gilbertus de Messina | Gilbertus de Messina, a.k.a Gilbert, is a player from Unser Hafen, he is a fighter, herald and novice jeweler who served as the Unser Hafen chatelaine. He is also a member of Bears Gate and spreads word of their shenanigans far and wide with his attitude and service. Gilbertus is a Norman from the city of Messina in the Kingdom of Sicily. His father, Coiffus served as a huntsman to the lord of Messina. His mother was a woman named Jālida who worked in the court. Gilbertus would've lived during the reigns of the first two kings of Sicily, Roger II and William I, during a period of expansion of the kingdom's presence on the global stage. Gilbertus may have first been bloodied during Roger's campaigns in North Africa, which resulted in the eventual conquest of Tunis and Tripoli. He also might have joined in some raids against the Byzantine Empire during the 2nd Crusade.
