The Shire of Fontaine dans Sable is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) located within the Kingdom of the Outlands. The Shire encompasses Four Corners region of New Mexico.[1]
Heraldry
The heraldic device of the Shire of Fontaine dans Sable is blazoned as:
- Argent, in pale a three-tiered fountain sable spouting azure and a laurel wreath vert.[2]
History
The earliest documentation for the Shire of Fontaine dans Sable is within the Atenveldt Letter of Acceptances and Returns for the month of August in 1983[3], indicating that the Shire predates the foundation of the Outlands as a Kingdom.
It was first announced in the September 2003 issue of the Outlandish Herald that Fontaine dans Sable would be elevated from Shire to Barony in November of that same year.[4] It was announced in the October edition of the newsletter that Duncan Alastair MacRae and Mary of Lyonshall would be invested as the first Baron and Baroness of the locality.[5]
