The Shire of Bryngolau is a local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), located within the Kingdom of the Outlands.
History
The group traces its origins to AS XLVI (2012 CE), during the reign of King Kynan III and Queen Gilliana of the Outlands. Situated between the Barony of al-Barran and the Barony of Fontaine dans Sable, Bryngolau was founded in the mountains of northern New Mexico near Los Alamos.
On 9 February, AS XLVII (2013 CE), during the reign of King Garick and Queen Yasamin, Bryngolau was officially granted its charter and recognized as a full shire.
Identity
The name Bryngolau is Welsh for "Shining Hill" or "Hill of Light." It is pronounced "Bryn Goli," with the final i sounding like the i in "bike."
