Black Glove of Caerthe
The Order of the Black Glove of Caerthe (CBGC) is a Barony-level Non-armigerous award in the Barony of Caerthe. It is given for having exhibited a combined talent in all of the following: the art of rattan fighting, the art of rapier fighting, and in the arts and sciences. The scroll text also mentions skills in archery.
This award was chartered in 1999 (A.S. XXXIII), by Baron Walter and Baroness Fiachra of Caerthe, with the charter also signed by King Maelgwn and Queen Lillian of the Outlands. Pendar the Bard served as White Stag Principal Herald at the time. The companionship of all previous recipients of the Order is hereby confirmed by the charter.
Purpose and Recognition
This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate a broad range of skills, excelling in multiple martial disciplines (armored combat, rapier, and archery) as well as making significant contributions in the Arts and Sciences, thus embodying diverse strengths within the Barony.
A Companion of this Order is entitled to use the post-nominal letters [CBGC] after their name.
Precedence
This is a Non-armigerous award and does not grant armigerous status.
Badge

Recipients are entitled to wear the badge of the Order and appropriate regalia.

Worthy indeed are those gentles who demonstrate strength throughout diverse means, for through them, the Barony shines like a beacon across the plains. The Order of the Black Glove of Caerthe was instituted to recognize those who have demonstrated skill in the Arts of War, namely armored combat as well as the art of the rapier, as well as skills in archery, along with excellence in the Arts and Sciences.
