Overview
The Barony of Caerthe is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) located within the Kingdom of the Outlands. The Barony encompasses Denver and the surrounding area in central Colorado.
Heraldry
The blazon for Caerthe's heraldry is as follows:
- Or, a laurel wreath vert and a chief embattled sable
Caerthe's populace badge is unique in its distinction from it's primary heraldry, displaying aspen leaves rather than a laurel.
- Or, a triskelion of aspen leaves conjoined at the stems vert within a bordure embattled sable.
Location and Groups
Founded in A.S. XXII. May still be active.
The Canton of Ravenhyrst is associated with Aurora, Parker, Franktown, Kiowa, Elbert, Bennett, and Elizabeth, Colorado. The last updated to their website was on December 1, 2019 in which it was announced that their seneschal would be stepping down. The announcement made mention that if a new seneschal was not found, the canton would no longer meet the requirements to stay active.
According to the Outlands College of Heralds, the name "Canton of Readstan" was registered in March of 2007.
The College of Scola Metallorum is associated with the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado and primarily focuses on fencing.
The College of Three Spires was associated with Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado.

The Barony of Caerthe is the oldest in the Outlands and the seventh barony to be created in Society.

A.S. 59 Twelfth Night
Twelfth Night A.S. 59 took place on January 4, 2025 under the reign of King Hawk & Queen Adrien and featured the elevations of Lydia of the Pines, Alasdair MacDubhghaill the Scot, Anne Elizabeth Morley, and Andreas von Meißen. The event was "Crossroads of Constantinople" themed. Then Crown Prince Zachariah & Crown Princess Mariana were in attendance. The event also featured a competing teams structure with each attendee given the choice of other green team or blue team. Points were earned through volunteering, class participation, and playing various games on site. It was announced at evening court that blue team won.

This event was notable for hosting the investiture of Tahir al-Razi and Rivka Vladimirovna Rivkina as Baron and Baroness and the elevations of Hayashi Yo'ichirou Norikata and Sixtus Goetz.

Elevation of Sixtus Goetz
Sixtus Goetz was first offered elevation to the Order of Chivalry at Jotunnstaor II on September 13, 2025 A.S. 60. His vigil was held on site during the morning of A.S. 60 Twelfth Night.
Sixtus was heralded into court by Miguel Sebastian da Oporto and escorted by Anneka Mikaelsdóttir. His ceremony began with the returning of his squire belt to his mentor. After returning the belt, his mentor cut his arms from the belt to symbolize Sixtus' release from service as a squire.

Elevation of Hayashi Yo'ichirou Norikata
Hayashi Yo'ichirou Norikata was first offered elevation to the Order of the Laurel at Jotunnstaor II on September 13, 2025 A.S. 60.
His elevation began with several individuals passing out packets of snacks and white paper lanterns suspended from dowels to the assembled populace. He was heralded into court by Æva Dyer and Vanozza Da Corbetta. The procession featured someone puppeteering a large, stylized stag's head attached to which was a long train of blue fabric. After processing, the stag's head was stationed at the front of the aisle with the train draped to resemble a river.
