Sable Lion of Caerthe
The Order of the Sable Lion of Caerthe (CSLC) is a Barony-level Award of Arms in the Barony of Caerthe. It is awarded for exceptional abilities in all fighting arts, encompassing both the teaching and the skilled use of traditional SCA-style weaponry.
This award was chartered in 1999 (A.S. XXXIII), by Baron Walter and Baroness Fiachra of Caerthe, with the charter also signed by King Maelgwn and Queen Lillian of the Outlands. Pendar the Bard served as White Stag Principal Herald at the time. The companionship of all previous recipients of the Order is hereby confirmed by the charter.
Purpose and Recognition
This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate superior prowess, dedication, and teaching ability within the martial disciplines practiced in the SCA. Recipients are honored for their combat skills and their efforts in fostering martial excellence within the Barony.
A Companion of this Order is entitled to use the post-nominal letters [CSLC] after their name.

Badge
- (Fieldless) Two swords crossed in saltire gules surmounted by a lion's head erased sable.
Recipients shall have the right to bear the badge of the Order and appropriate regalia.
