The Flower of Chivalry is a champion retinue position selected by the Queen of the Outlands, usually from amongst the entrants of the [[Bearer of the Queen’s Favor]] tournament the day following coronation. The champion of the tournament is given a baldric to wear during their tenure. The Outlands Heralds site specifies that it is "a green baldric trimmed with gold, depicting a gold rose" but both extant examples appear to be natural leather with gilded decorations.<gallery widths="250" heights="250">

</gallery>The Outlands Heralds website identifies a rapier as regalia associated with this position if a rapier fighter is chosen as Flower. However, this is not corroborated by other known sources, and there are no known surviving examples or references to such a rapier outside of that source. It does not appear that a rapier fighter has ever been selected as Flower. The claim should therefore be treated as unverified.<ref name=":0" /> The same source also lists a badge for the role as "''Badge: Vert, a rose, a bordure Or"'' but also makes note that the badge is unregistered. This badge has multiple conflicts and therefor cannot be registered or claimed as the badge of the role.

Overview

The Flower of Chivalry is a champion retinue position selected by the Queen of the Outlands, usually from amongst the entrants of the Bearer of the Queen’s Favor tournament the day following coronation. The Flower of Chivalry is meant to represent one who has fought with honor and chivalry throughout the tournament.[1]

Regalia and Symbology

The champion of the tournament is given a baldric to wear during their tenure. The Outlands Heralds site specifies that it is "a green baldric trimmed with gold, depicting a gold rose" but both extant examples appear to be natural leather with gilded decorations.

The Outlands Heralds website identifies a rapier as regalia associated with this position if a rapier fighter is chosen as Flower. However, this is not corroborated by other known sources, and there are no known surviving examples or references to such a rapier outside of that source. It does not appear that a rapier fighter has ever been selected as Flower. The claim should therefore be treated as unverified.[1] The same source also lists a badge for the role as "Badge: Vert, a rose, a bordure Or" but also makes note that the badge is unregistered. This badge has multiple conflicts and therefor cannot be registered or claimed as the badge of the role.
