Investitures
During Simon and Aria’s reign they oversaw two Investitures as Crown Prince and Crown Princess and two as Roi and Reine. While not related to their reign, this is notable for being an unusually high turnover. They witnessed the changing of Baronage in ¾ of Outlands baronies with Aarquelle and Citadel of the Southern Pass being the only two to maintain their baronage.
Investiture of Safiyya and Kitta
Unser Hafen was the first Barony to see a changing of Baronage with Simon and Aria serving as Outlands nobility. Kitta and Safiyya were selected as the next Baronage in February of AS LIX before Simon and Aria's reign as Crown Prince and Crown Princess. Kitta and Safiyya were invested in May of AS LX. Simon was present for the Investiture and spoke briefly during court.
Investiture of Adrianna de Tarente
Adrianna de Tarente was Invested as sole Baroness of al-Barran only a week later at Grand Outlandish.
Investiture of Wolfgang and Rowena
At Sohn Des Turniere um Gurkenschulcht in May of AS LX, with Simon in attendance as Crown Prince, Bryngerðr Þiðreksdóttir and Ronan na f-Fiacal mac Conaill officially stepped down from service as Baron and Baroness of Caer Galen. They were required to step down due to moving out of the bounds of the barony. At the time, Wolfgang and Rowena were invested as Vicar and Vicaress until polling could be held. At polling in October of AS LX, Roi Simon and Reine Aria announced that they would be investing Wolfgang and Rowena as the next Baron and Baroness. They were later invested at Caer Galen Midwinter & Investiture AS LX (2025).
Investiture of Tahir and Rivka
At Saint Sebastian’s, with Aria in attendance, it was announced that Ansteys and Dubhghall would be stepping down as Baron and Baroness of Caerthe. They had served since 2021. At polling in October of AS LX, Roi Simon and Reine Aria announced that they would be investing Tahir and Rivka as the next Baron and Baroness. They were invested at Caerthe Twelfth Night, AS LX (2026).
Philosophy
Simon and Aria have been very outspoken during their tenure about their approach to equity, accessibility, kindness, and recognition. They have introduced a number of new procedures which aim to support that vision.
Awards and Recognition
From the start of their reign as Roi and Reine, Simon and Aria were very intentional about their desire to recognize and celebrate those who may have been looked over in the past or would traditionally be looked over. With this aim in mind, they have also vigorously supported and recognized the contributions from scribes throughout the Outlands. At their coronation, they requested that the populace bring their award scrolls to create a scribal gallery. It was also announced at their coronation that they would be hosting a scroll derby. Simon and Aria also became noteworthy for their amount of elevation offers.
Equity and Accessibility
Court Summons
Simon and Aria began their reign with the publication of court summons prior to events. These summons contain the names of all individuals they wish to award or recognize during court. Each summons includes a title page, warning those who wish to be surprised not to continue further. The goal of the summons is to aid those in knowing when is necessary to show up for court if frequent event attendance is unattainable for them.
As Blue Iris Herald to Aria and a representative of the Voices of the Populace, Gráinne created and debuted signs with the titles of each award in the Outlands. The signs are large in scale and written in high-contrast to aid those with hearing difficulties in understanding which awards are being given.
Grainne as Blue Iris Herald has also aimed to increase accessibility by sending court reports to be published by the Social Media Office. By publishing court reports to the Outlands' various social media outlets, the populace is more capable of accessing the goings on of various events without needing to be in attendance.
Music Appreciation
Owing to her deep love of music, Aria placed a major emphasis on music appreciation throughout her reign. Notably, she tasked Caírech Liath ingen Ailpin as Windhover Bard with arranging musical accompaniment for court. During her reign as Crown Princess, she taught classes on music at Battlemoor. She requested a bardic competition to be held at her and Simon's coronation. At the Windhover Bard competition at Fall Crown Tournament, AS LX (2025), she gave each competitor a metal pin in the shape of a harp as a token of her appreciation.
Awards Given
